Emma, a successful radio talk show host who's written a book on relationships, is about to have her life turned upside down after advising a female caller to cancel her wedding. While attempting to get a marriage license herself, she finds out she is already married. Embarking on a search for her alleged husband, she not only finds him, but falls in love with him. Things are not what they seem. Her "husband" is a sexy NYC fireman, who turns out to be Sofia's now ex-fiancé. Her advice on compatibility makes her question everything she ever believed in about love and ends up having to choose between her fiancé Richard and the sexy NYC fireman.
